Oil & Gas Industry
Indonesia is one of the world's major oil and gas producers with total reserves of 8.80 billions of barrels of oil (BBO) and 174 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas.
Currently, Indonesia produces 1,078 thousands of barrels of oil per day (MBOPD) and 7,502 millions of standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.
The country ranks ninth in the world in total oil production and is the world?s largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), accounting for 40% of the world trade in LNG.
With such an active oil and gas sector, there are major opportunities for investment in oil and gas exploration, production, refineries, the petrochemical industry and gas transmission and distribution facilities.
All major projects will involve state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, product sharing contractors or PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, the state-owned company responsible for the transmission and distribution of gas.
