Vice President/ Chief Program Officer, Salzburg Global Seminar
Clare Shine is Vice President and Chief Program Officer of Salzburg Global Seminar (www.salzburgglobal.org), an international strategic convening organization created in 1947 to challenge present and future leaders to solve issues of global concern.
She leads the design and implementation of Salzburg Global’s multi-year programs to drive progress based on Imagination, Sustainability and Justice, using these as a triple lens to shift societies and lay the foundations for global citizenship.
A bilingual French and English speaker and professional facilitator, Clare is an Associate of the Institute for European Environmental Policy, a member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and the World Protected Areas Commission, and was recently appointed to Australia’s Task Force for Early Childhood.
Clare began her career in industry after studying literature at Oxford University and holds post-graduate degrees from London University and the Sorbonne University, Paris. She has been a regular contributor to the Financial Times arts section since 2003.
